Accessibility statement
Our commitment
We want AlertBoard to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. The site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA (the basis of Israeli Standard IS 5568).
What we did
- Pages are checked automatically for WCAG 2.0/2.1 A and AA issues on every change.
- Text is real text (not images), scales with the screen, and has strong contrast on a dark background.
- Status is never shown by color alone: every state has an icon and words.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Pages declare their language and direction (Hebrew right to left).
- Animations stop when the device asks for reduced motion.
- Urgent alerts are announced to screen readers.
Known limitations
- The live maps are visual. The same information is in each board's alert list and in the map's status line.
- The bot check on sign-up and reports (Cloudflare Turnstile) is a third-party component; it usually needs no interaction.
- News headlines and summaries come from publishers and an AI model and may not always use plain language.
Accessibility contact
If something is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it or provide the information another way: contact@alertboard.app. Please describe the page and the problem.
