Privacy policy

Who we are

AlertBoard (alertboard.app) is operated by BraineeTech. Contact: contact@alertboard.app.

AlertBoard is not an official alert service. Always follow your authorities' alerts and instructions.

Using the boards and maps

You don't need an account. We set no tracking cookies. Your board settings (places, sound, news) are kept in your browser and in the link you can copy for a screen; they are not sent to us, except as described under phone notifications.

Cloudflare, which hosts AlertBoard, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Requests first pass Sectora Shield, our web application firewall, which checks them for attacks using your IP address, country and request details. It sets one strictly necessary security cookie (__shield_d, one year) that recognizes the same browser across requests; it is not used for tracking or advertising.

Accounts (only to send community reports)

Accounts use passkeys. We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number or a password. We store:

• a random account ID, your role (user, moderator, admin), a reputation score, and when the account was created and last used;
• your passkey's public key and ID (the private key never leaves your device);
• two strictly necessary cookies: a signed session cookie (up to 30 days) and a sign-in cookie (5 minutes).

Community reports

When you send a report we store its type, the location rounded to about 100 m, the time and the link to your account. Your device's location is read only when you press the location button, and only the rounded point is stored. Confirmed reports appear on the public map without any link to you.

Phone notifications

If you turn on notifications, we store the push address your browser's push service (Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft) gives us, the board's region, the place names you chose, the topics, and a hash of the subscription's secret. Our push messages are empty; your device then fetches the text from us.

Bot protection

Creating an account and sending a report are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes signals from your browser under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

How long we keep data

• Reports and their confirmations: deleted 30 days after the report expires (reports expire after 3 to 12 hours).
• Accounts and passkeys: deleted after 365 days without a sign-in; their reports stay, without the link.
• Phone notification subscriptions: deleted after 90 days without opening the board, or as soon as the push service reports them gone. Notifications we sent: 7 days.
• Moderation log: 180 days.

Service providers

• Cloudflare: hosting, database, Turnstile, analytics, and AI classification of news headlines (no personal data).
• Sectora Shield (BraineeTech): web application firewall in front of the site.
• Google Cloud: a server in Israel that relays Home Front Command alerts (no visitor data).
• Push services of Apple, Google, Mozilla and Microsoft: deliver notifications to devices that turned them on.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your account at any time on the report page (Delete my account), and turn off notifications in the board's settings, which deletes the subscription. For access, correction or any other request, write to contact@alertboard.app.
